Motor Networks: Shifting Coalitions
نویسنده
چکیده
Are central motor networks composed of task-specific dedicated neurons or are the neurons multifunctional, entering shifting coalitions for particular tasks to form different functional networks? Recent experiments elegantly indicate the latter.

Power and Politics in the Global Health Landscape: Beliefs, Competition and Negotiation Among Global Advocacy Coalitions in the Policy-Making Process
Background Advocacy coalitions play an increasingly prominent role within the global health landscape, linking actors and institutions to attract political attention and resources. This paper examines how coalitions negotiate among themselves and exercise hidden forms of power to produce policy on the basis of their beliefs and strategic interests. Methods This paper examines the beliefs and ...
متن کاملTransfer of Coded Information from Sensory to Motor
During sensory-guided motor tasks, information must be transferred from arrays of neurons coding target location to motor networks that generate and control movement. We address two basic questions about this information transfer. First, what mechanisms assure that the diier-ent neural representations align properly so that activity in the sensory network representing target location evokes a m...
متن کاملEmerging cooperation on complex networks
The dynamic formation of coalitions is a well-known area of interest in multi-agent systems (MAS). Coalitions can help self-interested agents to successfully cooperate and coordinate in a mutually beneficial manner. Moreover, the organization provided by coalitions is particularly helpful for largescale MAS. In this paper we present a distributed approach for coalition emergence in large-scale ...
متن کامل[Social network analysis: an effective tool for evaluating community coalitions].
Objectives The aim of this paper is to report: a. The main applications of Social Network Analysis (SNA) in the study of community coalitions and inter-organizational networks; b. The structural indicators of the whole network related to coalition functions, and; c. The methods to identify subgroups within networks. Method We will use graph visualization and data from our own research to illust...
متن کاملMinimum Cost Spanning Tree Problems with Restrictions on Coalitions
We focus on minimum cost spanning tree problems (mcstps) where agents need to be connected with a source directly or indirectly through other agents with the minimum cost. Mcstps have been studied as cooperative games, where all of agents cooperate to construct a minimum cost spanning tree (mcst), and share the cost of the mcst. There actually exist situations where some coalitions of agents ar...
